Ingredients
  • 4 bone-in pork loin chops, 3/4 to an inch thick
  • 2 Tblsp. butter
  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced
  • 2 large apples, cored and sliced (I used a Cortland and Granny Smith)
  • 1/3 cup apple cider or apple juice
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon, or more!
  • ¼ tsp. ginger
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
Instructions
  1. ♦ In a large skillet, lightly brown chops in butter. Place chops in a baking dish and bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 35-40 minutes, just until juices run clear. Careful not to overcook.
  2. ♦ While chops are finishing in the oven, add onion slices to skillet and saute’ until they begin to soften-adding a bit more butter if needed.
♦ Add cider, honey, seasoning and apples. Gently toss and cook until apples are tender and juice begins to thicken.
♦ Arrange pork chops on a plate and top with hot apple mixture to serve.
