  • CourseMain Dish
Ingredients
  • Mix:
  • 1 beaten egg
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • ½ cup oatmeal
  • ½ chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 lb. lean hamburger
Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl, mix above ingredients until completely blended.
  2. Make into 4 to 8 mini-loaves, depending on the size you’d like.
  3. 4 loaves make an adult size dinner portion, 8 are good for smaller appetites or children, but make all the same size so they will bake evenly.
  4. Topping – mix items below and spread generously over top of each loaf.
  5. 2 teaspoons vinegar
  6. ¼ cup brown sugar
  7. ½ cup ketchup
  8. 1½ teaspoon mustard
  9. Grease a jelly roll pan or cover it with foil.
  10. Shape meat mixture into loaves, arrange them on the pan and spoon on topping.
  11. Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 45 min or until done. (time depends on size you make)
Terri's Notes

~ I made 3 batches at once, 12 loaves - baked 6 on one pan and put the other six on a pan in the freezer. Once they were frozen, I put them in a zip lock bag to save for a quick supper on a busy day or to have something on hand to share with a friend in need.
~ Frozen loaves can be used 2 or 3 at a time. Top, and bake them as partially thawed or put them in the oven frozen and bake for an hour at 325 degrees.
