FRENCH TOAST CASSEROLE

Ingredients
  • 1 12 oz. loaf French bread cut into 1 inch slices
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Pour mixture over bread slices, cover and refrigerate overnight.
  2. When ready to bake....preheat oven to 350 degrees
  3. Combine:
  4. 3/4 cup butter
  5. 1 1/3 cups brown sugar
  6. 3 Tblsp. dark corn syrup
  7. 1 1/3 cups chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  8. Spread mixture over top of bread, put a little between too!
  9. Bake for 50 minutes, until puffed and golden.
