BEST HOMEMADE SPAGHETTI SAUCE

Ingredients
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 stalk celery sliced thin
  • 1 carrot chopped
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 12 oz can tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons parsley flakes
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 2 teaspoons basil
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
  1. Sauté first three ingredients in 2 teaspoons butter for 10 minutes; add beef, brown, and drain.
  2. Add Worcestershire sauce and simmer 5 minutes.
  3. Add rest of ingredients and simmer 45 minutes.
Terri's Notes

~ This freezes very well and what a joy to have it ready to thaw for a quick supper! Serve it over your favorite pasta, ravioli or enjoy having it already made up for lasagna.
~ Don’t forget the parmesan!
